This Debut Album 'All The Time In The World' features the beautiful songs of Marguerite Montes on vocals and guitar with Peter Urquhart on violin. The bi-lingual album in Spanish and English, was recorded live in two separate one hour sessions at Leg Room Studios in Sydney, engineered and mastered by Tye T.Bones Pennington. What you hear is what was recorded in that first take. The songs are warm, sensual, intimate and raw.
"Spanish Australian Marguerite Montes is one of our countries finest under the radar performers .Her husky sweet voice exudes passion for life and authenticity which is enhanced by her Spanish and English language compositions with Latin and jazzy tones in her beautiful new album. This new album will be getting her noticed way above the radar now !" Kavisha Mazzella
Gorgeous singer-songwriter musician Marguerite Montes was our featured artist 'Live in Studio A' last Monday on Smoko La Pause Cafe . Her new Album "All The Time In The World" is a compilation of eight tracks in English and Spanish. From tender to sassy, Marguerite Montes' music, accompanied by Peter Urquhart on violin, creates an elegant and dynamic chemistry anchored in her Andalusian roots. Go and see her perform live, you'll get addicted to her rhythm which cuts across genres. Squizzy Rider, Radio Skid Row
'East Coast songwriter Marguerite Montes has lived a full, rich and colourful life – much of it in exciting boho circumstances, some of it in pain and darkness. Her new album of songs with violinist Peter Urquhart is informed, bruised and kissed with the ins/ups and outs/downs of her life. The eight songs on All the Time in The World are performed in a voice that carries the years in it – but is not worn out by them, only burnished to a clear, fine-grained glow, like any well-tuned and well-loved instrument. 'The synergy, or should that be sympatico, between Marguerite and violinist Peter Urquhart is obvious, so a big thanks right away to the birthday bash that brought these two together. As she suggests in her liner notes, when they began to improvise on her songs, "we created an elegant chemistry capable of conjuring Duende," the latter defined as a "state of heightened emotions and expression-the essence of Souls". There's also a bit of cheeky fun in in the jaunty 'Soy Impulsiva', where mid-song, Marguerite launches into a gloriously vehement tirade at a partner who seems more intent on the pub than their partner that's probably hilarious if you understand Spanish! Five of the eight songs are in Spanish - Marguerite was born in Andalucia - and though she's lived in Australia since the early 70's, it's obvious that, while her song writing is as finely tuned to the nuances of English as it is in her mother tongue, there's always something that doesn't quite translate, so if you can say it better in Spanish... It certainly makes for a wonderful record, full of every kind of passion.' Michael Smith, Rhythms Magazine. September October issue - 2017.
Marguerite Montes allows what will be, to come in its own time and in the mean time the listener can melt in her sultry tones, bask in her unending philosophy and remain for an unspecified amount of time, soaking in its lovely accompaniment. Sarah Pritchard
